Isle of Wight Street Pastors started in 2009. Part of a national movement it aims to show Christian concern for society by mobilising volunteer “street pastors” on the Island’s streets, engaging with people to care, listen and dialogue.
The scheme is run by national Charity the Ascension Trust (charity number 1039580) and operates in communities up and down the UK. Isle of Wight street pastors is run by a volunteer management team and part-time co-ordinator, David Ouston.
